3 Steps to Boost Your Confidence & Shine Your Brilliance With Less Fear & More Ease on this New Moon in Leo

You are brilliant...do you know that?

Each of us is born with a unique set of gifts we are meant to share with the world by being our authentic selves. But sometimes we receive messages from our inner critic or other people that we are not quite good enough, or that our light and passion will be too much for others to handle. To that, the universe says, "Nonsense!"

Today's new moon in Leo, at 1:55PM EDT (July 28, 2022), is inviting you to develop the confidence to shine your brilliant and unique light with the world, in spite of your fears. Here are three steps to help you on that journey, that I've designed just for you, by looking at today's astrology, as well as checking in with the Spirit Team of our Soulful Living Project community. Let's go!


#1: Get Clear on Where You Are Called to Shine Your Light

I promise you, if you are on planet Earth, you are meant to shine your light with the world. The question is: in what way? Take some time to reflect on what you feel passionate about, and how you would like to spend more time enjoying that passion and inspiring others who watch you.

Do you love rollerblading or biking or hiking? Does your heart soar when you make art, teach children, write short stories, or play music? Guess what? When you do that--or any activity you love--you are shining your light into the world by being in your joy. Your body and soul will vibrate at a higher frequency, and you will naturally raise the frequency of the planet.

Sometimes you will lead through example; sometimes you will influence more overtly through your interactions with others. Either way, if you feel passion and joy while engaging in an activity you love, you will be making the world a brighter and better place.

Think about the difference between a gas station attendant who smiles kindly to you while taking your payment, versus a parking attendant who is short-tempered with you and grumpy. The former makes you feel good, while the latter dims your mood. Our mood and energy not only affects ourselves but those around us.


#2: Figure out how you can do a better job of advocating for you personal needs.

With Chiron in Aries and Jupiter in Aries currently retrograding (Chiron in Aries retrograde began on July 20, 2022 and Jupiter in Aries retrograde begins today, July 28, 2022), the Universe is inviting us to slow down and reconsider our needs as individuals, outside of relationship and partnership.

The more you are your own best advocate--the more you take care of you--the more energy, confidence, and courage you will have to shine your light in the world. Why? Each time you engage in an act of self-advocacy or self-care, you are making a vote for you. You are telling your subconscious that you value yourself. Your subconscious will reward you in the future by supporting you with an energy of high self-esteem. When it's time to share your gifts with the world, it will be easier because you will be doing so from a foundation of self-confidence and self-love.

Don't worry, Universe isn't telling you to be "selfish." All you nice people out there have been holding yourself back for a long time now, for fear you will be just that--selfish. The truth is...that caring for yourself role models to others the importance of caring for themselves and that is a valuable and important lesson for everyone. Not everyone will get it, but some will. What's more, you will have more to give to others, when your own cup is full.

So ask yourself on this new moon in Leo how and where you can do a better job of advocating and caring for you. It may be as simple as taking a lunch break, or a little more complex, like telling someone about your boundaries and holding them accountable to honoring them.


#3: Identify Your Fear and Remedy It With a Safe Action Step

As Mars in Taurus and Uranus in Taurus conjunct the North Node in Taurus on August 3, 2022, and oppose the South Node in Scorpio, don't be surprised if you find intense feelings of fear or emotional chaos being kicked up like too much unwanted and nasty dust. The antidote to this Scorpion fear will be to ground yourself by taking safe and simple action steps to move you away from the fear and toward your desired outcome. How do you do this?

First, recognize that you are afraid and investigate what you are afraid of exactly. Do you fear for your life? Your reputation? Your finances? Your loneliness? Your health? Your livelihood? Your family? Or something else? Before you can move past your fear, you need to take it out of the closet and acknowledge it.

Now, think about where in your life you'd like to shine your light, experience more joy, and be big, bold beautiful you. Chances are, your fear is holding you back from doing so. Say a prayer to your higher self, Universe or God, asking them to help you resolve and release your fear.

Then, ask yourself what are one or two simple action steps you are willing to take to move your life in the right direction toward shining your light, sharing your gifts, and being joyful you. Pick something that at minimum feels safe and easy and at maximum pushes you a little out of your comfort zone. Take this step, feel safe, acknowledge your progress, and begin again.

Little by little, you will move forward toward your goal, and your fear will begin to subside as you demonstrate self-efficacy and experience progress without deep pain. The proof is in the living.
