It wasn't a midlife crisis.
✨ It was a midlife awakening. ✨
Either way, I had to start over again.
(Also known as: Sometimes shit falls into your lap that you were never expecting. 😬 Yup and yup.)
As the divorce attorney's fees stacked up and I tried to pose pretty for my new online dating profile, my old life disintegrated. 🫠
My ex got our forever-home 🏡 and the Crossfit membership, while I schlepped cardboad boxes of omelette pans, spaghetti pots, kitchen knives, the tea kettle, and half of the kids' Lego sets and stuffed animals into a "new" apartment on the other side of the railroad tracks (literally).
I had no idea what the future held, and that scared the crap out of me. I didn't know how to move forward, but I knew sure as shit that I couldn't go back. 🤨
I took a deep breath and dove off the dock into the cold waters.
All my life, I had been a steady and reliable person. Dare I say, even obedient.
This time, rather than being the dependable supermom (& super-wife) and taking the safe route, I followed my own "crazy" path to my big heart's dreams instead.
The old me would have lathered up with 50 sunblock and strapped on my orange life preserver before setting off.
But the new me?
She dove right in without a flotation device and started swimming toward her dream life. Because it was going to take some time--and a few risks--to get there. Something important was calling to me.
I could have followed the "proper" path like I'd always done before. Instead, with the help of my astrology chart...
I broke all the good-girl rules society had taught me and...
- fell in love with a man 20 years older than me 😱
- left a 15-year career as a book editor 📚 and became an astrologer (double 😱😱)
- moved to my dream location in the ⛰️ mountains, even though my 'tween-aged children could not come with me (😱😱😱, obviously).
I was sure that people were going to point at me and gossip behind my back. And some of them probably did.
Screw it. I kept going anyway.
I found my happy place, and never looked back. All because of astrology and my inner voice of wisdom. I could not have done it without them.

✅ Today, I live in the Berkshires (Western Massachusetts), amid the forests, mountains, lakes, rivers, 🐻 bears, bobcats, rabbits, birds, and turtles. 🐢
✅ I married the older gent, as he turned out to be rather awesome.
✅ My children eventually relocated to live with us in a new forever 🏡 home that's even more magnificent than the last one, even though that all once seemed impossible. (Hey, life isn't perfect, but we gotta celebrate the good stuff!)
✅ I love my career as an 🌟 astrologer and spiritual life coach, which continues to engage and interest me (I'm getting to meet you, aren't I?!), and I'm writing a bad-ass book for starseeds, yay!
I had to take some risks to get here. And to be clear, risk-taking does NOT come naturally to me!
(Did I mention I'm the kind of person who always wears my seatbelt, and doesn't miss a night of flossing? 🤓)
Astrology and my inner voice of wisdom gave me the confidence to make the hard choices and to know when to take risks (and when not to).
Thankfully, I've never regretted a single one of them.
