Happy Sun in Aquarius!
I hope you're enjoying some of the Aquarian energies that are blessing us right now since the Sun moved into Aquarius last week on January 20th.
Happy birthday to our sun-sign Aquarius friends too! Thank you for shining your light for us.
I am extra excited this month to share with you what the energy of the Sun in Aquarius has to gift us with (while it remains there until Feb. 19th) because it is also a sneak peek into Saturn moving from Capricorn into Aquarius in March, which will initiate a new 2.5 year cycle of potential wholeness and well-being.
And then there's the fact that we are in the dawn of the Aquarian Age right now--a new 2,000 year cycle inviting us to evolve as humanity into the next wonderful version of ourselves...so there's also that. :)
Given some of the stresses in the world around us right now, I think we could all use some light and some hope.
To understand Aquarian energy, you don't have to look too far in our culture as it is percolating around us if we are able to notice it. Alicia Keys expressed it perfectly in her speech at the recent Grammy's when she said,
"It's time for newness. And we refuse the negative energy. We refuse the old systems...We want to be respected and safe in our diversity. We want to be shifting to realness and inclusivity."
At it's core, Aquarian energy is about embracing our own (and each other's uniqueness) and trusting that together our different talents, gifts, and ways of being will help us create a richer, safer, and happier world. The idea is that we are truly better together, but only if each of us gets to be our unique selves.
As the Sun plays in Aquarius this month, and as we tiptoe our way to a 2.5 year cycle of Saturn in Aquarius that will begin in March, now would be a great time to take a trial run of maximizing the best of Aquarian energy.
This month, as you look to make the most of the Aquarian energy that the sun is shining down on us, consider...
marching to the beat of your own drummer
taking pleasure in friendship
learning from other people's differences from you
revolutionizing your own or others' lives through innovation and invention
aligning your mind and body with your soul
experiencing joy in giving back to your community
or something else (Google "sun sign Aquarius" for more inspiration)
If you want to get a light-hearted peek into Aquarian energy, check out the animated Will Smith movie, Spies in Disguise, in which a red-headed Caucasian kid, working with an African American spy and a female South Asian American intelligence agent save the world using non-violent inventions like the inflatable hug, kitty glitter, and a gun that shoots bubbles.
The movie has much in it that Aquarius wants to encourage in us--diversity, innovation, creative thinking, quirkiness, and a togetherness that comes by bringing our unique selves to the table to accomplish a goal for the common good.
Sending love and appreciation to you for your unique gifts and talents--and some bear hugs too.
